I will love to answer you dear. For M.Sc. In Applied Geology you have to do B.Sc. In Geology with Geology as a Hons course. Please do it with proper percentage. Then for M.Sc. You have to appear JAM exam which is held every year in the month of feb. For pursuing M.Sc. In best colleges that will be a value addition to yourself as well as your future you have to rank within 50s in JAM exam. The best colleges are: IIT BOMBAY, IIT (ISM) DHANBAD, IIT KGP, IIT ROORKEE, IIT (BHU). In IIT (ISM) it is a 3 year course as you will get in one shot the degree of M.Sc. Hello Harpreet, Yes, you can appear for the UGC NET exam but make sure that you should have minimum 55% aggregate marks in your Masters if you are from General category or if you are from OBC/SC/ST/PwD category then you will get the 5% relaxation in aggregate marks. NTA has started the online application process of UGC NET December 2018 from 1st September 2018 and the last date will be 30th September 2018. As you are first year student, my dear, you are not eligible to apply. In your second year you can apply and if you get good rank it is valid for two years. Nextly, it would help you to gain experience about the question set and how you have to manage timing next time. Minimum eligibility criteria is that the aspirants must have completed graduation in Science (B.Sc. ) stream from a recognised university with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as main subjects, and with a minimum aggregate score of 50%.
