First of you need to clear your graduation (in any stream) with good grades,
crack entrance CAT with very high percentage then apply to IIM,followed with Group discussion and personal interview etc

Although a degree is always considered the best when compared to a diploma for almost every stream but then as you would know Animation is a creative dominant field and has less to do with the kind of course but more with its curriculum.
Hence, I would suggest you to opt for the course depending on your career aspiration, area of interest, and preferences.

First check if you're suited for Animation. Animation is an art form and a very demanding career. It has ample opportunities for the creatively talented people. Typically you should have good sketching skills to be able to make a sound career in this. Nothing but your innermost talent and passion should lead you to the course and the institute you choose. However you may pursue diploma also, I would suggest that before opting for any course you must first decide in which field you wish to build your career and accordingly you can select the best course as per your interest and liking.
As a student you should give your 100% in whichever course you opt for, and if you do well then getting a good job with handsome salary should not be a problem.
