In most of the colleges GDs are held on current topics related to sports, economics, business etc, so you need to be aware of all the latest current affairs, for this you should read news papers and magazines.
GD is a team activity, so while participating you should express your views very clearly at the same time you also should give chance to others members in team to speak.
It is always advisable to take initiative and speak first if you know about the topic, but if you are not aware of the topic you should listen to others first and then speak.
As soon as you get to know the topic don't immediately start the discussion take 1-2 minutes time, jort down the points and then speak.
While speaking in GD your tone should not be aggressive, it should be polite and humble.
When the discussion is over, it would be good if you give the final conclusion on behalf of the group.
To do well in interviews, you need to prepare in the below mentioned 2 categories:
Physical preparations for interview:
Physical preparations include looking after health and hygiene, maintaining a groomed appearance, dressing appropriately, good body language, etc.
Mental preparations for interview.
Candidates who desire to get selected in the face of stiff competition need to appear before the interview panel fully prepared on subject content. This includes a thorough revision of actual subject knowledge. Getting acquainted with current affairs and general knowledge is also a good idea. For this a habit of reading newspapers and watching news on television as well as inculcating reading habits is a must.
To do well in interview, please keep in mind the following tips:
Be comfortable.
Listen attentively.
Avoid nervous mannerisms.
Speak clearly.
Be positive and enthusiastic.
While giving answers to questions:
Be Concise.
Provide Examples.
Be Honest.

If you're going for the degree course you must wait till you clear 10+2. At some places you can take another course which you can convert to degree later, if you're very keen to start right away.
