Absolutely, meritorious JEE Main 2026 with a pretty good rank opens great opportunities at Chandigarh University. Those with good JEE ranks are entitled to merit-based scholarships awarded to a few selected students on the basis of All India Rank. As per the recent scholarship programme for the academic session of 2026–27, students with AIR up to 25,000 can achieve a 100% semester-fee scholarship while those with ranks up to 1,25,000 are considered for giving partial fee benefit. Hi.

CU doesn't rely only on JEE Main scores for admissions. Their primary admission pathway is through their own entrance test — CUCET (Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test).

If your JEE rank is not strong, you can appear for CUCET — many students do that as alternate route.

As per recent info, students with a valid JEE Main rank up to 50,000 may get exemption from giving CUCET. But this means if your JEE score is lower (i.e. outside that top‑50,000 band), you must give CUCET.

Hi.

No — JEE Main is not mandatory for taking admission in CU. Most official sources state that admission is based on CUCET (or class 12 marks in some cases), not on JEE.

CU may accept scores from national‑level exams (including JEE Main) or strong class 12 results in some cases — but primarily in the context of scholarships or sometimes as an alternate admission pathway.

For example, candidates with very high 10+2 marks (reportedly > 90%) may get exemption from CUCET — in which case admission may proceed via merit rather than entrance test.

International students are allowed to work 20 hours per week. Many students do part-time jobs. You can earn around 538 Euro by doing several jobs. This money is usually enough to cover your monthly expenses like food and health insurance, but maybe not full rent if you live in expensive city.

It is mostly free but not 100%. In public universities, you pay zero tuition fee, except in Baden-Württemberg state and TUM. However every student must pay a semester contribution of approximately 300 Euro every six months. Also, you need money for living expenses like rent and food, which is not free.

Yes, for Master degree, many universities offer courses in English. You don't need German language for class. But for daily life, like shopping or talking to the landlord, learning basic A1 or A2 level German is very helpful. For Bachelor courses, it is hard to find English options, they ask for C1 German.
