Well as you have mentioned Delhi University, I would like to say that admission would first depend on the cut offs. Once you manage to make it through the cut offs, then there would be a need for an entrance test which would vary from college to college.
For your preparation, you need to go through the newspapers everyday and make a note of all the good articles or important news that you come across.
