You are only eligible to appear for ivil Services Examination in the final year of engineering. It is good to start preparation for civil service examination but make sure that you do not spoil your academics of graduation degree.

B.Com (Hons) is a three year undergraduate degree program to provide the student with a wide range of skills in area of commerce, accounting and management. Yes you can start preparing but also take admission in Bachelor's college as the minimum educational qualification required to take on the IAS exam is graduation. You have to have a degree from a recognised university to attempt the IAS exam conducted by the UPSC every year.

Hi Justin,
The admissions are based on two streams:
Stream 1: 70% of seats are filled. The JEE scores and board exam marks are considered.
Stream 2: 30% of seats are filled only by board exam marks.
Since you have a good percentage in your board exams you may get admission through stream 2 only.
The website for applying counselling is www.sastra.edu and the last date is June 10th.
