Hello Nishar Ahmed, let me first explain the concept of the cutoff. When any institute receives much more applications than the authorised intake, it's placed in a dilemma. Whether to call all those who applied for interview to select prospective students or to conduct an exam to screen out students etc. Invariably all institutes have veered round to this concept of cutoff. They announce this figure of cutoff and state that students who have scored below this level need not apply. This works at multiple levels. Firstly, it prevents too many students landing for admission and creating chaos and also bad publicity! Secondly it enhances the name and prestige of the institution as it gets known that, it will accept students only with a certain minimum percentage. However private universities, like ADBU or private colleges do not have such luxury and that too if during previous years they have not admitted enough students to take care of the financial needs of the institution. 

     May be due to this or some other reason, Assam Don Bosco University too does not announce any cutoff and hence there is no place where one can see the same.

Hello Nishar Ahmed, Assam Don Bosco University and Assam Downtown University, both were established almost in the same period. However ADTU developed in a very big way by offering courses in almost all the disciplines that one can think of. In addition to this perhaps the promoters of the university realized that placements of the graduating students will play a very pivotal and important role in getting students in future and as a result they have a dedicated director for this role. Career development and placement cell of the university works full throttle and achieves the desired results. University claims to have reached figures of about 80% placements of those who desired to be placed. This cell conducts mock interviews, mock drills and also interacts with the probable recruiters so that the whole process of placement is carried out in an atmosphere of friendship and without any tensions whatsoever. 

      When we compare these two private universities of Assam, one can definitely say that Assam Downtown University offers better placements.

Hello Nishar Ahmed, Assam Don Bosco University was established in the state of Assam in the year 2008 as a private University. Since then it has grown into a full-fledged University offering varieties of courses catering to the needs of modern society and the latest trends amongst the students. It provides education in varieties of streams and as a result the placements are also in these different fields and the packages to the students depends on the field in which they have graduated. Even though everyone normally thinks of graduation in Engineering or MBA as the fields for placements, hospitality industry courses run by the University also features in the placements which are made in the university by engaging with different players in this field. From perusal of different reports, it appears that about 30% to 40% students get placed in engineering and about 25% in MBA while this figure goes above 50% for the hospitality courses. The highest packages offered for engineering graduates were to the tune of 6 to 8 lacs where as for MBA courses it was about 4 to 5 lacs and for hospitality courses it was about 3 to 4 lakhs. It is also seen that these packages are showing an increasing trend from the year 2021 onwards and when the figures of 2023 are finally released, we will see improvements in the figures coated above.
