Both are good choices. I chose mechanical engineering, but lately I've been thinking about going into economics.
The biggest difference between the two that I see is the environment you'll be in. Chemical engineers will spend much of their career in chemical plants, refineries, and other field locations as well as the office. Accountants pretty much spend all their time in the office.
