It is better to go for B.Tech instead of B.Sc. CS because of following reasons:
1. In B.Tech CS, you will study core subjects which forms the basis of computer Science. So if you want to be scientist it is better to study subject from basics.
2. B.Tech CS is practical oriented course while B.Sc. CS is theory oriented course. Now if you want to be scientist it would better if you are perfect in practicals.
3. B.Tech CS will give you more opportunities as it has everything to study from basics to the latest technologies and developments. At last decision will be yours but you have to take it carefully by thinking from every point of view.

It is good to hear that you are planning to do chemical engineering which is a core branch of engineering not run of mill CSE or IT. India has a very well developed chemical industry including petroleum and gas both in government and private sectors. It is a core sector with lots of government and big corporate houses support. Hello Shreya,
Difficulty of IPU CET (B Tech) is of normal level and if anyone who studies PCM well from NCERT 11 & 12th, then it will be quite easy.
But speed is the key factor. You have to be quite fast and smart enough while solving problems as questions are not that much tricky but they require bit of calculations that surely waste some time (Maths).
For Physics, if your concepts are clear and if you have solved the NCERT exercises well, then you will not face any difficulty.
For Chemistry, questions are directly asked from NCERT.
In short, NCERT is best for IPU CET and speed is the key. factor
