Well I can't say about Chandigarh University, I would like to discuss about Lovely Professional University. The Mechanical Engineering department had the most ideal study environment since I have two friends from that stream. The labs and workspace at LPU School of Mechanical Engineering, was fully equipped with all the necessary machinery that was required for wholesome learning. I am going to share few facts which I know about mechanical department:-
A Mechanical Engineering student goes through an experiential learning process surrounded by high-end the latest labs and equipment including robotics and automation. International tech-fests and competitions encourage all-round development in our students in addition to giving them international exposure. As a general rule for placements, a lot more will depend upon your own hard work, communication & presentation skills and overall preparation. This would be true for any university you enroll in. PEP classes start right away from the first semester itself in form of Communication Skills and continue till the final semester covering: Analytical Skills (Logic Reasoning and Verbal Reasoning) Quantitative Aptitude Skills Technical Aptitude Skills Presentations and Soft Skills Mock Exercises (Mock Interviews, GDs, Mock Tests, etc. ). All a student has to do is to maintain a good academic record and personality to ensure his/her placement. Professors are easily approachable in the college and are well experienced. They are very supportive of all technicalities. Students can contact them anytime for their study purpose. The latest teaching methods are used in the classroom. Mechanical Engineering students at LPU are provided with enormous opportunities of placement drives. I can SEE my few friends getting placed in reputed companies like Hyundai, Reliance Energy, Godrej, Sandhar Technology, XL Dynamics and many more. Even IT industries recruit Mechanical students here. Companies like Microsoft, Wipro, TCS, Infosys, etc. Are prominent recruiters here. This is a good question. Many people are confused about this two. Please understand the expansion of both.
1. BE stands for Bachelor of Engineering
2. B.Tech stands for Bachelor of Technology.
There are many engineering branches like Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Aeronautical etc. These are pure engineering branches. In fact , these degree are called as BE or Bachelor of Engineering.
Some other courses / branches are there, which is categorized under technological branches. For Examples, Information Technology / IT, Bio Technology, Bio Informatics etc. The Graduate Courses in these branches are issued as B.Tech
But some universities are issuing all engineering and technological graduation certificate as B Tech. For example, Calicut University in Kerala, issuing B Tech Certificates even for Civil Engineering Graduates. While Universities like "Anna University" issuing BE certificates for Engineering and B Tech Certificates for Technological Graduates.
