Well I can't say about Chandigarh University, I would like to discuss about Lovely Professional University. The Mechanical Engineering department had the most ideal study environment since I have two friends from that stream. 1. BE stands for Bachelor of Engineering
2. B.Tech stands for Bachelor of Technology.
There are many engineering branches like Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Aeronautical etc. These are pure engineering branches. In fact , these degree are called as BE or Bachelor of Engineering.
