Candidates should be post graduates from a recognised university in Economics/ Business Economics / Applied Economics /Econometric for Indian Economic Service. Even candidates appearing in the qualifying degree examinations are also eligible provisionally subjected to producing proof of passing along with detailed application form. It is only possible, if you do MBA from distance learning and M.Sc from regular. Both degrees cannot be done simultaneously from regular colleges. All the best.

Fact: Any Graduate, preferably Engineer, can take this optional without any fear (2 of top 4 selected in 2016 Exam were of different background)
Agricultural Engineering is one of the short optional, which can be handled to decent level within limited time of 1 month that we usually get after Civil Mains.
