There are good numbers of differentiators- 1. 21-day long orientation. I must say that what I learnt in first 21 days made huge difference to me in my life. It was a great kick start for the program. NSB makes you very comfortable being among students from all cultures and states and they make reading interesting.
2. The teaching methodology - It is a big plus here. Classes are never dominated by professors.it is always student led and is mostly based on scenarios, case studies, and hands-on method. Classroom always buzz with energy. This is truly I cherish at NSB.
3. NSB has a foreign exchange program and that is very successful. Many students go to France and Spain to study one semester. There is no additional fees and only you have to take care of your expenses of travel and living.

I will suggest you to go for B.Sc/B.Tech biotechnology, as Biotechnology is more diverse field compared to microbiology.
As correctly defined by UN convention on Biological Diversity, Art. 2 any technological application that uses biological systems, living organisms or derivatives thereof, to make or modify products or processes for specific use. Once you will start your course you will be introduced different streams of biotechnology such as:
1. Animal cell culture.
2. Biochemistry.
3. Cell biology.
4. Embryology.
5. Genetics.
6. Microbiology.
7. Bioinformatics.
8. Biochemical engineering.
9. Plant biotechnology.
10. Bioengineering and
11. Molecular biology.
After completing your course, you could decide whether you would like to stay in research or would you like to go for MBA. If you decide to go for MBA, then there is a course in University of Pune named MBA in biotechnology or else you can go for a plain MBA.
