Some advantages of MBA after Engineering:
1) MBA stresses on building soft skills, which is one of the most important life skill.
2) MBA becomes pivotal in opening up alternate career paths for many who completed engineering grudgingly, or got bored of corporate job as an engineer.
3) Some people who do executive MBA or a short term MBA along with their jobs, do it to skill themselves in areas that will help them grow further. Some disadvantages of MBA post Engineering:
1) An MBA in Finance after CA or B.Com is better than after engineering
2) General MBA is equally good after any graduation.
3) MBA in sales and marketing doesn't specifically benefit from engineering unless post MBA job requires technical know how. MBA after engineering is not a waste of engineering degree as many people and this questions make it sound. Its fine for people to take a little longer to identify what suits them and what makes them work. Everybody should strive to reduce this period to as short as possible.
