In the above link you can refine your search on the basis of your city preference.
Most of the institutes conduct an entrance exam for admissions. The basic requirement for admission is good English both written and verbal, minimum qualification required is +2 from a recognized board. The entrance would consist of few objective type questions on GK, reading comprehension, grammar, etc.

To pursue a career in IPS, requires to write and qualify the UPSC exams , which are conducted in two phases: Preliminary test (CSAT) and Main Written Test.
CSAT: It is an Objective type examination consisting of Two Papers that is common to all candidates from 2011 having special emphasis on testing their aptitude for civil services as well as on general knowledge.
Main Exam.: Those who qualify the CSAT exam are shortlisted for the Main exam. It is a descriptive (essay type) examination. The General Studies, Essay paper, English Paper are common to all candidates and with this a candidate has two optional subjects to choose from the given options and a language paper of his / her choice. After qualifying the test, shortlisted candidates are called for the interviews and then the final selection takes place.

To Prepare well for the PSC, there are two phases - Preliminary and Main, you need to be well aware of the pattern and syllabus.
For the preliminary/ CSAT, It is an Objective type examination consisting of Two Papers that is common to all candidates from 2011 having special emphasis on testing their aptitude for civil services as well as on general knowledge.
In this a candidate shall answer two objective type papers which are the general studies paper and the General Aptitude Paper (replacing the optional subject).
General Aptitude Paper will observe ones aptitude towards a mix of sections like verbal reasoning, numeric reasoning, abstract, data interpretation, spatial reasoning etc.
General Studies is entirely focused on the reality around us from History to the present, from economy to politics etc. It deepens to the current affairs.
Those who qualify the CSAT exam are shortlisted for the Main exam. It is a descriptive (essay type) examination.
