After class 12th, your approach should be to focus on the static areas such as history, geography, polity, environment and general Science. You need to clear your basics regarding these subjects as they form the 60-70% basis of prelims examination. The way to get admission at Madras Institute of Technology is through the single window counselling under Anna University.
You can apply for counselling through www.annauniv.edu (TNEA 2017) and the last date for registration is may 31. the last date for submission is June 3.
The counselling starts from June 27.
You should have scored a cut off marks of atleast 190-195 to get a seat there. and yes your caste also plays a role.
If you are from Tamil Nadu, then, you will be called earlier. if you are from the other state, then you need to submit the nativity certificate.

91% is not a bad score but the course you select demands more marks. If you opt for courses like computer science, mechanical like that then you should score a little higher.
The last date is June 10. So after that you will know whether you can get a seat or not as they will release the ranks.
You may not get your desired course.
