It's your call whether to go for Diploma at this stage or think of 12th and then engineering. Both have pros & cons. But I would advise you to not worry and go ahead with admission in 11th. After 12th, there will be plenty of options to choose from.

Fundamentally it's best if one chooses that subject for graduation which is passion or one has great interest. When these two meet, study doesn't appear to be a burden and we enjoy. My advise: Follow your passion.

Actually, instead of looking from this angle, ask yourself what is your passion? What subject interests you? Then take all necessary steps including appearing for required entrance exam to get that stream.
