Yes, you can take admission even if you have any gap in your academic years. To confirm your admission you have to fulfill the eligibility criteria of the programme. In the private college, no doubt that there is awesome study environment and there is lot more to do, but in the government college, placements is much better than any private college, and there you will get enough time to study and also to learn new skills that is more important in the CSE field.
