Pass or appearing at B.E. / B.Tech. / AMIE / MCA / M.Sc. in the respective discipline or equivalent. For M.Tech. in Biotechnology candidates having B.Tech. / B.E. in Biotechnology or related fields / M.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Life Science or equivalent / MBBS / B.Pharm. / B.V.Sc. with Biology as a subject at +2 level are eligible. Candidates having MCA degree are eligible for M.Tech in Comp. Sc. & Engg., Comp. Sc. & Data Processing, and those with M.Sc. (Maths.) degree are eligible for M.Tech in Comp. Sc. & Data Processing. Candidates with M.Sc. (Electronics) are eligible for M.Tech. in Electronics & Communication Engineering and M.Tech. in Applied Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering. M.Sc. in Computer Science and IT are eligible for M.Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering and IT respectively.
GATE qualified candidates are exempted from the entrance test, but they have to submit the filled up form.
Admission into M.Tech. programmes will be done on the basis of performance in SAAT-2010 or GATE and personal interview taken together. After the interview, a separate merit list will be prepared.

First year is the combined one for all the students in almost all the universities.
Second year: you get subjects from mathematics like optimization techniques, queuing theory,numerical techniques and a few from electronics like digital electronics,Circuit analysis, microprocessors,electronic devices, Data struc and a programming subject probably C++.
Third year: you may get java (a programming language), embedded systems, computer networks, algorithmic design, Operating systems, compilers, Database systems, computer architecture
Fourth year: you get higher engineering subjects like a few subjects related to linux like shell programming, FOSS, and others include multimedia systems, real time systems, vlsi (very large scale integration), distributed systems, cryptography and securities, even in some good universities you get subjects like Grid computing, cloud computing, parallel processing, neural networks,
The subjects you get depends on the university in which you get enrolled. But the subjects are like these in almost all the Indian universities with may be a little difference. If you are curious to know the detailed syllabus then first check the syllabus of the university in which you are going to seek admission into.
