I too am little confused about this but home NIT surely has quota for home state student & state ranking is useful there. I have no idea that how many % of seats are reserved for home state students?

No,all the nits including your home state nit will only be using your AIR and not the state ranking.There are 50%home state seats and 50%other state seats.In your home state nit,you will only be considered for the home state seats and for all other nits,you will be considered for other state seats.But for the seat allocation,only your AIR will be taken into account.For more details,visit the CSAB website and download the information brochure wherein all the details are explained very clearly.
