Dear aspirant, Actuarial Science is a relatively new career, keeping in mind the age old cliches that are present. A person who studies the course can now be a part of the banking and business field. The job is highly rewarding in any part of the world and is in demand due to ample of vacancies as it is a skilled job that required a qualified person to solve risk involved problems. A student of Actuarial Science can opt for an internship and expect a stipend of INR 40,000 per month. The salary for an Actuary in India is around 15 to 20 Lacs per annum but it depends on the individuals skills, expertise and knowledge. If one has started and has cleared 3 to 4 papers, then a person who has studied Actuarial Science in India can expect to get 3 to 5 Lacs per annum.

Both M.Tech and MBA are good career options after engineering graduation degree. M.Tech will make you a specialist in chosen field and you can make career as a technologist. You may seek admission in M.Tech if you are technically inclined. If you are not technically inclined then you may opt for MBA and become a generalist. Currently scope of MBA is wider but slowly industry has started paying good salaries to technologist also. Number of opportunities for Government job are restricted and also slowly government is rationalizing its term and conditions of job. Life time pension benefits were withdrawn by government in 2004. I am not in favor of graduate engineers doing a government job below class I officer. If you able to get job of class I officer in Government after engineering then its a good option otherwise it is not a good option. My recommendations in order of precedence for your choices are as follows: M.Tech, MBA and Government job.
