I am not sure how good you are with Maths and programming. If you are, then you must pick up a language whether PHP/ HTML5 (web dev), .Net (for software development), Java/ Android (for apps) or C#/ Unity (for games).
However, like I mentioned, you must be good with programming to move ahead in this area since you have to compete with other MCAs and B.Tech (CS) applicants. Estimating the minimum salary is difficult as companies have different CTC , performance bonuses and joining bonuses policies. However if you are dedicated and hardworking ,getting a job with at least 10lpa should not be a big deal

Well, being a bio student you cannot opt for an IIT to study B.Tech as IIT admission is strictly on the basis of JEE scores. Though, there are colleges like:
1. SRM.
2. LPU.
3. DY Patil and some state colleges those offer B.Tech/BE biotechnology to bio students as well.

Loopholes are their in each and every institute . Bimtech has got a great learning environment . They follow their morals and ethics to the extend they can.
