Language is not a problem for upsc .it depends upon candidatesl in which language he can express himself better in MAINS AND INTERVIEW.it is true that material in english medium is easily available.but there are many student in top ranks who qualify the exam in hindi medium. so there is no disadvantage in being hindi medium student provided you must have little knowledge of english for qualifying paper of english language in mains.

- You need to complete 12th with minimum 60% (Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry) from recognized board to join good college. However, there are colleges which take students who have scored 45% - 50%.
- You need to appear in entrance exam.

The university does not charge an application fee. However, you are required to pay 85 USD for the IERF evaluation . The IERF is a body that will evaluate all your marks sheets from Undergraduation, and Redlands strictly requires an evaluation of marks from anyone applying from the outside of the USA. Dear rajan,coaching is not necessary always for preparation of IAS. IT IS YOUR WILL AND SELF MOTIVATION THAT DETERMINES THE FINAL OUTCOME.next year prelims will be held on 24th august,so ypu have sufficient time to prepare.first you look the old papers(on upsc website) and analyse your weak areas,then start reading relevant books for that part.after reading books you should solve old papers.read any monthly magazine for current affairs.for CSAT do lot of practise.you can start from any manual available like TMH ,spectrum that provide all information at one place initially and later on move for specific books topicwise.
