National Eligibility Test, which is conducted by the University Grants Commission for the lectureship jobs in central government colleges, does not have Botany or Zoology as one of the subjects. This, I believe has lead to confusion for you regarding the subject. The answer to your questions is pretty simple. You will have to choose 'Life Science' as the subject for the CSIR UGC NET entrance exam.

Hello Maithili,
You have asked really interesting and important question. To tell you frankly, all the coaching classes indulge in great amount of advertising. So, it's simply not possible to rate these. How much improvement was observed in a student after joining should be the parameter of rating. An independent study had stated that these classes at best bring 10% improvement only. My advice will be to choose the class that is the nearest to your home and is easily accessible.

I guess the colleges which offer admission without entrance must be state board colleges or college not too specialized in teaching law.
I would advise you to take admission in some good college with entrance process as they are said the one with a good reputation.

The university does not give a cutoff for CAT or other entrance exam scores. Instead, you can apply and if you are eligible they will contact you and your GD&PI dates and time will be published on their websites. As far as the admission procedure is concerned, I suggest you to perform well for your GD &PI since the university concentrates mainly on them. Good Luck!!
