I did my PhD at Michigan where EE and CS are in same department but my adviser was in EE. EE has an incredible statistical signal processing program which is basically machine learning/statistics. So I feel that being able to model the underlying, detect things, etc coupled with writing software around it helps you separate

As of last year, the cutoff rank for admission to BE in Electronics and Communication Engineering at RNS Institute of Technology through KCET was around 6000-7000 for general category candidates. The total number of seats in SRC for CSE AND ECE is 240, 120 in each of the departments.
