Certificate course:
A certificate course teaches students the basics of improving the functionality and attractiveness of interior spaces. The curriculum focuses on the use of fabric, color, lighting, space, furniture and accessories in residential and commercial interiors. Many certificate programs are not accredited by professional organizations and hence do not have much market value. Diploma course:
A Diploma programme covers both the fundamentals of interior decorating and the technical aspects of design. Students learn many of the same topics that are covered in certificate programs along with other intensive practical training. Completion of an internship or portfolio project may be part of the Diploma requirements. The market value of the Diploma is much higher than a certificate course, provided it is a regular course.
