The earliest workings towards the design of the refracting telescope were made by German-Dutch lensmaker Hans Lippershey in 1608. During Lippersheys time, the name telescope was not used until three years later and he referred to his design as a Dutch perspective glass, which he used for seeing things far away as if they were nearby. Galileo, though, was the first person to use a telescope for astronomical purposes after hearing about Lippersheys work in 1609. He improved on Lippersheys design and using his new telescope in 1610, he discovered the four largest moons of Jupiter (Io, Ganymede, Callisto and Europa) and physical features on the Moon.

Automotive engineering is a combination of mechanical, electrical and materials Science. Engineers in this field can design new vehicles or look for ways to improve existing automotive engineering technology.
A 4-year degree is the minimum qualification for most automotive engineering positions. Undergraduate programs in this field are most commonly offered in automotive engineering technology, which can cover the basic principles of engineering along with modern vehicle design requirements in terms of safety, fuel economy and industrial manufacturing.
While master's degree programs in automotive engineering are available, automotive engineering is a complex and interdisciplinary field, so students may also find relevant coursework through graduate programs in electrical engineering, environmental engineering and mechanical engineering.

VIT university tops the list of the rankings among the private universities as per NIRF rankings 2017. (7th position after all IITs). Mechanical engineering is not really good in terms of placements at VIT university except the main campus(Vellore)but you can study it in Vellore as many core companies are coming for recruitment.
So you need not worry about it. The only thing is you need to decide whether you can pay the category 3 fees at VIT University ( around Rs 4 -5 lakhs per annum including hostel). I think it is not worthy to pay the much fees and study at VIT.
If you are talented and can study well then you can surely join there. VIT offers many student friendly programmes so that you can gain more knowledge.
You must work hard and try to be better than your counterparts then you can get job with a good salary.
only in Vellore you can study mechanical. if you get other campuses then please don't go. If you get mechanical, then opt only Vellore campus.
