Mass communication is a wide term and relates to fields like public relations, communication, advertisement and journalism, which can further be categorised into print, electronic and web journalism. Mass Communication and journalism involves dissemination of information and media effects through reporting, writing, editing, photograph, broadcasting or cable casting news items though the print (magazines & newspapers) or electronic (television & web) media.

There is a provision in some universities where a student is allowed to change his/her college in 2nd year under the same university,if he/she performs really well.changing a university is not possible.if you want to change the university,you will have to start the course from beginning

The minimum educational qualifications for admission to IIT Roorkee for MCA is:
• Bachelor's degree with Mathematics as a subject for at least one year for annual system candidates/ at least two papers of Mathematics for semester system candidates.
The Joint Admission Test (JAM) for admission to MCA in IIT Roorkee includes:
• Minimum 55% aggregate marks (50% for SC/ ST & OBC)
• For candidates with letter grades/CGPA (instead of percentage of marks), the equivalence in percentage of marks will be decided by the Admitting Institute(s)
