Hi,
I would like to share a few tips that can surely push your moral as well as confidence to score maximum out off which you are desiring to score-
1. Study regularly, take out time for at least three subjects in a day. Work more on those subjects, in which you feel you are weaker than other subjects.
2. Do not leave any subject for more than 2-3 days. Every subject should be taken up for study at least in every alternate day.
3. Devote at least 6-7 hours for self study. Take out a bit of time for relaxing and entertaining also.
4. Whenever you study, don't sit for too long continuously. Take one or two short breaks of 5-10 minutes.

I think you should choose course based on your interests and passion and not on money or salary figure. Hope you have seen 3 Idiots movie. Journalism and MBA from IIM are not comparabile. More the competencies and skills, more money will come to you

Find below the the information on sectional and overall cutoffs for GD and PI as reported by various IIMs:
- IIM Calcutta - Sectionals above 90 percentile each and overall above 95 percentile
- IIM Bangalore - QDI above 80 percentile, VLR above 90 percentile and overall above 90 percentile
- IIM Lucknow - Sectional above 85 percentile each and overall above 90 percentile
- IIM Kozhikode - Overall above 85 percentile
- IIM Indore - Sectionals above 85 percentile each and overall above 90 percentile
- IIM Shillong - Sectionals above 65 percentile each and overall above 90 percentile.
For the newer IIMs:

Every student taking up the Intermediate level/course, should undergo compulsory coaching with the institution. The coaching may be taken up at the discretion of the student in any one of the two modes, ORAL or POSTAL.
*Taking oral coaching is like joining a recognized institution and going to college for classes.
*Taking postal coaching is like joining any correspondence course.
