Firstly my advice would be treat this as sensitive one. Not sure what is his age? But generally speaking - anyone will take advise from others only when there is a mutual admiration, respect and trust in place. Set aside few hours to spend time with your son - and work on some areas where you both go well together. All it is needed to gain trust and treat him as matured individual and share your concern. Never try to challenge - we should give them their space and give right directions. If we are good friends to our kids - we see them blossom. I remember Khalil Gibran's saying."
