No, a qualifying exam doesn't ensure admission to a particular institute. For admission to a certain institute, candidates have to score above the qualifying cutoff and appear for the counselling and admission process. The GATE cutoff for IIT varies according to the category of the candidates. It is to be noted that admission to IIT is based on factors including the cutoffs of the institute and branch in which admission is desired. Therefore, we can say that there is no minimum GATE score for IIT. The Indian Institutes of Technology Kanpur released the GATE 2023 cutoff for all 29 papers along with the GATE 2023 result. Getting good marks in JEE Main mock tests do not guarantee that you will also score good marks in the actual exam. However, if students are solving the mock tests regularly in the controlled environment with time bound of 3 hours, it will surely help in increasing the accuracy, time management and performance of exam. If a candidate solved mock tests of the same difficulty level and from the complete syllabus, there is a possibility that the score would be what he/she gets in the mock.

Yes, self-study can be sufficient for IPU CET preparation if you have a disciplined approach, access to quality study materials, and are dedicated to your studies. Many students have successfully cleared the exam through self-study.

However, it is important to have a well-structured study plan, access to previous year question papers, mock tests, and reliable study materials. Additionally, seeking guidance from teachers, taking help from online resources, and solving practice questions can further enhance your preparation.
