Hi Konark,
Few of the institutes under IP University those providing Mechanical Engineering are: MAIT, Indra Gandhi Institute of Technology, HMR Institute of Technology and Management, NIEC, ASET, GPMCE and GB PANT etc. As far as Placements and Academics are concerned MAIT tops the chart. However, I would suggest that before getting into any of the Institutes you should visit the institute and interact with the current batch students and faculty members also if possible interact with the dean to get all the first hand information, this will help you in taking a right decision.
Hope this resolves your query. Feel free to put up more queri

Hi Konark,
More than anything else the thing which you should keep in mind while choosing your career stream is your own interests and career aspiration. As far as placements are concerned I would say that all the good Institutes, like MAIT, GB Pant, and IGIT etc. all try to get best of companies on their campuses, but more than institute, the placements would depend on your capabilities, performance on the programme and how you use the knowledge earned at the time of job placements.
However, if you have to choose between Mechaniacl and Electricals, Mechanical is a much wider field than electricals but in scope I would say both are high

Hi Ipshita,
In order to pursue Phd from universities in US, you need to first of all make a list of the universities that you aspire for, and then send emails to respective course department, asking them to provide you the eligibility criteria and selection procedure for PHD students.
It may take three to six years to complete your PHD, depending on the field you select and your mentor.
The general eligibility criteria for PHD students are as follows :( though it may vary from university to university)
In majority of the institutes, Master's Degree is an essential pre-requisite for a Ph.D. while others admit graduates too. It is important
