There are two versions of GRE Test, namely:
GRE General Test.
GRE Subject Test.
GRE General Test:
This test is open to all candidates, irrespective of their age or educational background. Generally taken by prospective graduate and business school students, this test measures verbal reasoning, analytical writing, critical writing and quantitative reasoning skills of a candidate.
GRE Subject test:
GRE scores of this test are often required for doctoral programmes in the US, though some universities require the GRE Subject test scores for Masters-level programmes too.
The eight subjects in which the GRE subject test is presently conducted are:
1.Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology.
2.Biology.
3.Chemistry.
4.Computer Science.

First of all I would say that the most important thing which you need to keep in mind while choosing your stream or profession is your own interests and career aspirations, so, best thing would be to first ponder on your career path that what exactly you want to become and then plan your course accordingly.
As you have done Diploma in Painting you can either try to do higher level courses in fine arts or painting or try your hand in the fields like Advertising, Mass Communication etc. or else start doing freelance painting work. Apart from this there are other options as well where you may utilize your painting skills such as various designing courses like Fashion Designing, Interior Designing, etc.
