IELTS and TOEFL are the exams which need to be taken by all the international students whose first or native language is not English.So the student can take either TOEFL or IELTS.
Both IELTS and TOEFL has 4 section namely:
*Reading
*Writing
*Speaking
*Listening

Dear Danish, you will have to appear for GATE exams which are held every Feb month. for 2012 exams last date of application was 21 Oct2011. You can log on to www.iitk.ac.in/gate for information, application etc. Go to the link "Apply Online". Register yourself by entering your name, date of birth, password and email id. You can then fill in your ONLINE application form, proceed to make the payment of application fee using Payment Gateway or Challan Payment options.
The status of your application will be put up on the zonal GATE website. Click on the link "Application Status" and follow the instructions. Generally, the status of your application will be put up within two days after the receipt of the application in the Zonal GATE offices.
