This is a field where nobody cares for your qualification, they only see if you can do quality work. A good mentor and wise selection of courses with a good school, followed by diligent learning, would get you a head start in your career. However, you must check your suitability for this field. Animation is an art form and a very demanding career. It has ample opportunities for the creatively talented people. Opportunities lie in UI Design, Graphic Design, Storyboarding, Animation Design, Game Design, 3D Modelling, Texturing and Lighting, Dynamics and VFX and of course animation (2D and 3D). Of course at the top of the pile lies Concept Designing - these people are required by Event Companies, Animation Studios, VFX Studios, and of course Game Studios. However, choosing between these must be done after seeing your performance in each of these. So going for a generic course covering all or most of these would be the best way to get started in these careers. As u already know its next to impossible to get into NIT with above set of scores. But no need to get demoralised . There are several good private institutes which provide good exposure and academic atmosphere. U can apply for counselling of uptu through jee main score if u have not appeared for state exam. Some colleges under uptu affiliation which are good are:

If u get into any of these. U will get much needed exposure and academic soundness. Or u can try for other private universities. As I study in galgotia. I would say its not the best but still good college with good faculty and infrastructure. And located in well Planned city i.e gr. Noida. Placement is good too as compared to other private colleges

Apoorva, Design is a field that is age old and has been evolving every year like science. The world has changed a lot and a lot of new and wonderful careers in design have come up. Sometimes student Artists are too much enamoured by Fine Arts preventing them to look objectively at Design. They must read this http://bit.ly/SXc9GD. Again like science it pays to be at the cutting edge. For e.g. science students do better if they go for CS or IT since that are areas where development is taking place rapidly. Similarly in Design the cutting edge areas are UID/ UXD, 3D Printing, Immersive Technology, Augmented Reality, 3D Projection etc, besides of course Game Design & Animation. Of course at the top of the pile lies Concept Designing (usually reserved for writers and visionaries) - these people are required by Event Companies, Animation Studios, VFX Studios, & of course Game Studios. At this stage, you may want to understand the creative world and the careers it offers. Interiors, textile as well as Web Design rely on the same skills - your layout skills and color sense. Journalism also is at this level and relies on your language skills & knowledge of history and current affairs. A little higher perches Graphic Design, Fashion Design, jewellery design, Acting, & Fine Arts which rely on one of your artistic skills - sketching & imagination. At a similar level perches VFX as well as Motion Graphics which rely on one of your artistic skills - Cinematographic skills & imagination. Then come careers like Animation, Film Making, Game Design which rely on multiple talents like your authority over sketching, acting, direction, voice, sound, writing, storytelling and problem solving skills etc. Any extra skill can be used in this. So it turns out to be one of the most challenging as well as satisfying careers. Sure not recommended for the weak hearted. Do remember that digital design careers (e.g. web design, graphics, UI design, animation, vfx, multimedia) give better profits since they can be delivered anywhere in the world & hence may earn in dollars - resulting in better rewards for designers.

There are a lot of engineering colleges affiliated to GGSIPU. These include both government as well as private colleges. CSE branch is the most sought after branch . Although, your rank doesn't leave with much choices to choose from, you can still try for institutions like HMR institute of technology where you have some chances of admission. Admission in the first round of counselling is not possible, but you can try in the further rounds. You haven't mentioned whether you belong to the general category or you have any reserved category. Your chances of admission increase if you belong to any reserved category. In my opinion, you should definitely register for the counselling. It can also be helpful to check last year's cut off for every college that is available on the university website ( www.ipu.ac.in ). If you aren't able to get cse branch, you might as well take admission in IT if you are interested in computers and programming. IT has equally bright career scope. Wish you all the best.
