your brach of engineering in any institute can be changed subject to avaiability of seats in ur desired branch. Very offen Engineering colleges also change the branch on the basis of performance in First year of Engineering. So perform well in first year exam to change your branch.

mainly u have to clearly understand in networking which side u want go
1)system administrator:
>who control's all the system in a company like authentication,setting rules in accessing only particular sites,hosting of webpages etc.
>for becoming system administrator u can do course like n+,mcitp, linux (or)rhce.
> salary would range from 10,000 to 30,000
>the is more competition for Microsoft,but there is more demand for Linux and u can get a nice pay and get job easily compared to mcitp.

>network administrator is also same as system admin,but only difference is he should take care of networking devices like router's

Hi Rishabh,
Today's generation has endless career options open in front of it (from Nuclear Scientist to DJ).
You may opt B.tech but as you know admission are closed you may go for Online education and later next year go for regular if you wish to.Don't know much about Chennai but yeah i can suggest you Mahatma Gandhi University (Meghalya)which is approved by UGC-AICTE-DEC
