ISMS Bangalore is a good institute to pursue studies the institute has good teaching faculty, placements records and infrastructure.
Some of the companies which recruited students from this institute are:

In order to get the detailed information about the placement records, faculty, tuition and hostel fees, it would be always advisable to browse through the web pages of the above stated institute.

1. Yes of course it is a good decision. There are a few criterion that needs to be in mind while selecting optional for IAS.
*First and the foremost, the Candidate must be comfortable in grasping the concepts of the subject.
*Availability of study material is also an important factor in determining the optional subject.
*Candidate should not choose a subject just because it's said to be scoring or his friends are choosing it.
As far as your prior educational background is concerned, you can opt for Economics along with any other subject for which you possess keen interest and passion. For forbidden combinations visit UPSC website.
2. Talking about the Examination pattern there would be two papers in prelims- Reasoning Aptitude and English Comprehension followed by the main exam that would entirely be subjective. For details check www.upsc.gov.in

Registration for the Executive Program Level/Course can be done all throughout the year. There is no such thing as a last date for registration. The only requirement is that the course duration should have elapsed for a student to be able to appear at a certain examination.
This implies that you can appear for an examination that would fall after the minimum course duration has elapsed from the date of your registration.
Students registering
Before August 31st can appear for both Modules - in the June Examination Next Year
[Register before 31st August 2012 to attempt - both Modules in June 2013 Exam]
Before November 30th can appear for one Module - in the June Examination Next Year
[Register before 30th November 2012 to attempt - one Module in June 2013 Exam]
Before February 28th/29th can appear for both Modules - in the December Examination the same Year

Adding to Aru's remark, I would say that MBA in Media is a very rare course and very few institutes offer this course. Rather PG in Media is a very popular course and it has a lot of scope. Media is a very broad term which includes many things such as journalism, production, direction, cinematography, advertising etc. As it will be difficult for me to explain every category of Mass Comm/ Media to you in brief, I am providing you with few article links below, kindly refer to them to get a better idea.

-It would be unfair to compare Diploma and Degree unless both are of same duration and both are competitive. .
-However,it is advisable to compare the course content of both the courses and if diploma provides equal or more knowledge subjects than degree course then there is no harm in pursuing a diploma.
-The worth of a distance learning MBA in entrepreneurship,can be judged by the institute that provides it .Instead of unknown institute,the same degree can be pursued from top distance learning institutes.
-The worth of a diploma program can be judged by its course content and duration (1 year or 2 years)
-The choice again depends on how much time one has to complete the program.
-The rank/ accreditation, facilities provided should also be considered before taking a decision.

Hi, The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) is the body which presides over the Company Secretary program.
The minimum educational qualification to apply for a company secretary course is 10+2. The course has three stage:-
1. Foundation course is open for those who have only done 10+2.
2. Those with graduation or a pass in final exams of ICWAI or ICAI can directly apply for the intermediate stage.
3. After doing the Intermediate course and clearing the exams one goes into the final stage.
To become a company secretary a candidate needs to be a member of Institute of Company Secretaries. For that one needs to clear the final stage by passing the examinations, gain practical experience and do the required training. A company secretary needs to have very good Communciation skills, excellent command over English, analytical mind and ability to explain things to the directors and decision takers in the company.
