As, GIS is an upcoming field and have strong scope of growth there are not many Institutes providing Bachelor's level programme in this field. Few of the good Institute which you may make a check with: Institute of Remote Sensing (College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University), IIT Bombay, Symbiosis Institute of Geoinformatics, Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, IIITMK etc.

There is no restriction to choose specialisation in ips, so choose only a subject in which you have interest and have deeper knowledge of subject. regular study is must to prepare for civils, always keep an eye on current info.
