Yes, a student is eligible for a lateral entry to a degree engineering course post the completion of diploma in engineering depending on the availability of the provision in the particular college you are apply to. Most of the engineering institutes in India do have the option for lateral entry. For admission through the lateral entry, student requires to qualify an entrance (usually a state level entrance i.e. SLEEE) based on which a merit list is made and depending on which the admissions take place.
