Hi,
In order to pursue MS in US you need take 2 exam, namely:
1.IELST or TOEFL.
2.GRE.
IELTS and TOEFL are the exams which need to be taken by all the international students whose first or native language is not English.So the student can take either TOEFL or IELTS.
Both IELTS and TOEFL has 4 section namely:
*Reading
*Writing
*Speaking
*Listening
TOEFL (Test of English as Foreign Language) is of 120 marks, and all the good universities requires 80-90 plus score.
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is of 9 bands, and all the good universities requires 6.5-7 bands plus score.
GRE,is a test which need to be taken by all the student who wish to pursue MS course in US.
It is of 1600 marks, and all the good universities requires 1200-1400 plus score.

Hi Priyanka, IIA has launched integrated M.Sc-Ph.D Programme in Physics and Astrophysics in collaboration with Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). To get admission in your desired course you have to apply for the entrance exam of this by submitting your application form. After that they will take an entrance test. You need to clear the entrance test for taking admission into it. For downloading forms and for upcoming dates of exams I would advice you to visit their site or contact the institute officials personally. And as for the preparation, I would suggest you to work on your
core physics courses which lay the foundation for research in any area of Physics and Astrophysics.
Also lay more emphasis on the problem solving and laboratory skills.

CAT Test Dates :
Saturday, 22 October 2011 - Friday, 18 November 2011
Test Duration and Pattern
The CAT 2011 will have only two sections. The first section is Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation; the second section is Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning. These two sections will be implemented sequentially with separate time limits. The examination will be 140 minutes. Candidates will have 70 minutes to answer 30 questions within each section which will have an on-screen countdown timer. Within the 70 min provided for the section, candidates can review the answers. Once the time ends for the first section, they will move to the second section and will no longer be able to go back.
