First and foremost, mismatch between demand and supply. Those who had political links, started engineering colleges with hope of minting money since at one point in time, engineers were always getting job. But today, supply is much more than demand and hence more engineers are jobless. This has resulted in more than 50 thousand seats not getting filled up in engineering colleges in Maharashtra alone.
