Yes it is very important. Infact, it is very much mandatory to take the IELTS. Is it required by the university, and required by visa authoties. Please take the IELTS and target a score above 6,5 with a minimum score of 6 in each section or you will have to retake it.

Even if you go abroad to study, you will not be allowed to work Full Time. Students in international countries like USA and Canada are allowed to work part time for maximum 20 hours a week. Payscale depends on the job that you are doing, but you cannot work for more than 20 hours per week or 4 hours per day.
