The MH-CET 2017 notification for MBA, MMS 2017-19 programs is out. MH-CET or MAH-MBA/ MMS-CET is the state level entrance exam test for admission to MBA/ MMS programs affiliated to Maharashtra State Universities. The test is conducted by Directorate for Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra. This is followed by a common admission process (CAP). Hence, the CET is a gateway to esteemed top colleges like:
1. JBIMS.
2. SIMSREE.
3. PUMBA.
Following are the MH-CET 2017 registration details:
MH-CET test registration process test name: MH-CET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test) 2017.
1. Registration starts: 21st January, 2017.
2. Last date to apply: 13th February, 2017.
3. Last date to print application form: 28th February, 2017.
4. Eligibility for MBA/ MMS MH-CET 2017: You should have passed minimum 3 year duration Bachelor's degree awarded by any of the universities recognized by University Grants Commission or Association of Indian Universities in any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent (at least 45% in case of candidates backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) or its equivalent or appeared for the final year examination of any Bachelor's degree to be awarded by any of the universities recognized by University Grants Commission or Association of Indian Universities in any discipline.
5. Test date: 4th and 5th March 2017.
6. Test time: The test is of 150 minutes (2.5 hours).

SPJIMR offers 4 specialisations: Marketing, Operations, Information Management and Finance.
Now coming to the application part. There are 2 ways of selection-
1) Profile Based Calls - Here they call you based on your profile as CAT results are not out by that time. However, the criteria here is that you need a minimum of 85 percentile overall and a sectional of 70 percentile in all sections, else your call becomes invalid. Also, you can get a call based on GMAT score for which the minimum percentile required is 650.
For profile based calls SPJIMR closely observes your academics, extra-curricular activities, achievements and relevant work experience. You need to be amazing at them (at least academics and work exp.) and not dismal at any one of them.
Now for profile based even though the cut-off is 85 percentile for CAT, selections are possible only with a 93-95 percentile score and a 680-690 min on GMAT.
2) Score Based Calls - Once the results are declared, calls are made on the basis of CAT, XAT and GMAT. A 95-97 on CAT/XAT and a 700 on GMAT should be good enough.
Also, you need to choose a specialisation at the time of applying.
Ops & IM need relevant work experience.
Marketing and finance needn't require work experience.
Although, having work experience in the relevant field is a big boost.
