Hi Soumya, there are numerous career prospects available for students who have completed their Masters' in English literature. MA Literature students can get jobs in India as well as overseas in a variety of fields.
Students of English Literature can get jobs with the media as reporters. It is also possible for them to get jobs with newspaper firms. If they have a degree in journalism, they can get jobs with news broadcasting firms like NDTV, CNN – IBN, Zee News, Star News Communication etc. They may also get job as Copywriter, Editor, Freelance Writer, Jobs with BPO and KPO firms, Public Relation, etc.
Apart from these job prospects, they can also find jobs as independent literary critics, writing for print or online publications. They also have option to start their own tuition centers for the English language.
Candidates from MA in English Literature can get jobs abroad too. Candidates can get jobs as proofreaders, Copy Editors, Copy writers and writer in the marketing department But to get jobs abroad, work experience is a must.

Yes you can apply for government jobs in BHEL, ONGC, NTPC, DRDO, NHPC, SAIL, GAIL, BSNL, IOC, etc.
And for getting into civil services, you can apply for IAS, IPS or SCRA if for railways.
You can even look for higher education, For the same, I would advice you to go for B.TECH as that is the minimum eligibility required for admission into further studies and with a diploma in hand, it might be a problem. I would suggest you to look forward to colleges that offer lateral entry admissions into the bachelors program for IT related specializations.

Hi, first of all great to know that you want to go for Civil Services. Keep it up.
Well you have not mentioned any exam in particular like IAS or IPS or SSC, yet the examination pattern is same for all as the conducting body is one. There would be two papers in prelims- Reasoning Aptitude and English Comprehension. Followed by the main exam that would entirely be subjective.
I would suggest you to spend quality time everyday by reading journals, magazines, newspapers, etc. Refer to the following two institutes offering UPSC coaching in Ghaziabad. Select the one that best fits into your set criterion.
