The UGC-stands for the University Grants Commission-it is a body that grants permission to the university by studying all the aspects,each and every aspect of the university.
It decides the university potential,as a university have to maintain lots of facts,it is a huge responsibility,it is likewise our father is responsible for maintaining all our needs and all our requirements,similarly a university is responsible for maintaining every issues related to the college,hence it is necessary that the UGC take care of all this facts.
Now a college is affiliated to a university which means that it will maintain and follow the syllabus and curriculum prescribed by the university,it is the college who will have to go as per directed by the university.
A college is of basically two types ,one the college which only conducts the technical education like MCA,BCA,MBA,B.TECH,M.TECH.
The college which only conducts the non technical education like the B.A,M.A,B.COM etc.
All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is authorized to take all steps for ensuring maintenance and development of technical education and their standards.
Now every institutes that conducts technical education requires the approval of the AICTE and the one which do not conduct the technical does not need.
Now a university is one which conducts both types of education,technical and non technical,hence it does not need the AICTE approval,only the colleges need the AICTE approval and that too only those which are technical.
Remember always,a college require the affiliation of a university and if the college is a technical one then it needs the AICTE approval,but if the college is not the technical then only the university affiliation.
A university only requires the UGC approval.
