Hello I am Biswajit. First of all I can tell you that game designing and animation both are very good subjects but market are less in West Bengal. In both the cases I can suggest you to go for B.Sc in Animation or B.Sc in IT. No matter which subject you had in HS. For game designing you will have to know atleast topics like C, Java, Php, Mysql. I have a company in my knowledge in Kolkata who does gaming. I receive mails from CEO corner. I don't know much about BSc in animation but I can tell you about BSc IT. If you want to do this join NIIT. Niit has C#. core java, advance java in their curriculum. More importantly there is an event named JOB Fair. where graduate people come for interview. Sort of Campusing. And if you are undergraduate and NIIT student n good performer then you will get a chance to attend the job fair to help HRs. Like an assistant HR. In this way you will get in touch with those people. Even if you don't get recruited in companies like Wipro, IBM which are not gaming company still then won't be matter because you know gaming companies and you can go for interviews proactively without any help. This will help you in gaming as well as your graduation is done. And if you take B.ScIT along with GNIIT then after graduation you will get an internship of 1 year, IT will be a paid internship. Sure, but first do understand that only if you're creative, you should consider going for Design and Animation. A good mentor and wise selection of courses with a good school, followed by diligent learning, would get you a head start in your career. However, you must check your suitability for this field. Animation is an art form and a very demanding career. It has ample opportunities for the creatively talented people. Opportunities lie in animation design, game design, graphics, storyboarding, 3d modelling, texturing and lighting, Dynamics and VFX and of course animation (2D and 3D). However, choosing between these must be done after seeing your performance in each of these. So going for a generic course covering all or most of these would be the best way to get started in these careers. Typically you should have good sketching skills to be able to make a sound career in this (if you work hard you can improve your drawing skills tremendously). Nothing but your innermost talent and passion should lead you to the course and the institute you choose.
