There can be varied opinions on this, according to me the first thing which you should keep in mind is your own interests and career aspirations then you should see the scope of the programme and then the market value as in brand value of the Institute you are planning to apply. Although, the scope of both the programmes are good but to get the best opportunities in both the above mentioned field it would be advisable that you opt for a Masters level programme. so keeping in mind your interest choose the field and go ahead!

Frankly speaking you would not find courses related to cosmology at Bachelor's level so, at bachelor's level you need to take up courses like B.Sc Physics, Astrophysics, Astronomy etc, and the at Masters level you can plan for cosmology stream. Although, ranking keeps on fluctuating every year so, it would not be possible to give you any concrete information regarding a particular Institute but 1966 is a decent rank and you definitely can get through some of the good Institutes under MPPET and you should try for SGSITS as well.

but there are coaching institutions in trivandrum for iit which is similar to the isat examination.
