No, it can't be learnt as correspondence program, as it is a learn by doing field. However you may learn certain software's through tutorials from Internet. First ensure that you yourself are suitable for Animation Career. Animation is a Creative field and a highly demanding segment. It is exciting and rewarding too, but only for talented people.
To master the Art of Animation, first ensure that you learn the art on paper. Animation needs lot of mentoring.

yes, he can do b.ed if he wants to become a teacher. he can do m.phil and phd if he wants to go to the field of research and can accomplish net exam of ugc in order to become a lecturer. even if he wishes he can prepare himself for civils with economic as an optional subject.
