Hi,
Different PhD programs will have different eligibility criteria, however, most of the programs ask for a Masters degree with 55% & above aggregate marks. Few of the programs like PhD in Management accept bachelor's degree with 3-4 yrs of relevant work experience. Few of the Institutes also take entrance exam for their PhD like BITS Pilani.

Hi,
Instead going to any other University I would suggest the first step should be to check with your own University if you can appear for this paper. AS there is some maximum time period within which you have to complete your degree may be 3 or 6 Yrs, so if it is 6 Yrs you will be able to sit for the paper. You may have to pay the fees for the complete year.
Hope this resolves your query. Feel free to put up more queries. In case your query is resolved please close this question by choosing it as a best answer or pressing the thumbs up icon.

Dear Atu,
Lateral Entry is for diploma holders, those who do 3 years diploma well approved by Govt. norms, and then give their own entrance exam for admission into engineering colleges.
And as they have studied 3 years after 10th, they are directly given admission in 2nd year of engineering.

Hi Abhay,
As far I could understand with your question is that you plan to write the next year's CPT even though you have got admission for its coaching this year. Although it seems a little difficult for the coaching institutes to help you in something like this with large time gap to fill in, yet I would suggest you to contact the institute to verify about the possibilities that may take place.
