Hi Sajjan, GMAT (Graduate Management Aptitude Test ) is meant to be written if you are planning to go for a Management course at Masters level. To crack this exam you should have a strong quantitative skills. You should have math as a subject, whether you take commerce or science wouldn't make much of a difference. You should have the speed to solve questions quickly, for this you should know the short cut methods of solving problems.

HI Atul, personally speaking if you can get into IIT, then stay here. As the return on investment after graduating is good. If you plan to stay in India then IIT is the best option as the nametag will remain with you forever. Even if you seek job abroad, IITs are well known and you will have no trouble finding a job.
If you go to NUS, you can work in Singapore. But coming back to India, not all employers may have heard of the name and you may not get a package suiting to your caliber.
