My dear friend for going in the security u must have clear one thing that ---- What u r going to Secure? Either Network of ur data? Where ur entire Data reside? Obviously on Database and your database reside on one Operating System. And the OS must be of any Server OS not the client. Do u have knowledge of any Server Operating System like Windows2003 Server, 2008 Server, Linux Solaris, HPUX, IBM AIX, Sun Solaris, AS-400 or any other?
So going for Security U must have sound knowledge of one Server OS preferably Linux and after setting up LAN then only u can setup ur WAN and after WAN then only u can communicate with rest of the world. Then only u require to secure ur network & data. RHCE+RHCSS is very good option for Server Security and CCNA+ CCSP is good combination for Network Security.
